In response to your questions regarding the Dahmer Tours;

We were asked to handle the Dahmer Tours for a number of reasons. With out success in helping build and launch other historical tours in the metro area, we were approached. Milwaukee has many things of interest for both it's residents and tourists alike including its beautiful natural stretch of lakefront, the art museum, historic architecture, festivals... The list goes on and on.
To this day, however, people do associate Milwaukee with Jeffrey Dahmer. Not exclusively, but the curiosity exists. Rather than take that aspect and hide from it, we are providing a different format of information to learn the story.

The tour is roughly 90 minutes, and that's based upon a full tour group of 20, allowing for questions along the way. It covers a one mile stretch of south 2nd street where Dahmer found 7 of his 17 victims. Those who participate in the tour get to absorb the information in a different format, than say, a book. They are literally putting their feet in the places where the victims were found over 20 years ago. The tone and the material of the tour is heavy, and it fills you with this sense of loss, and yet, the area has seen a tremendous upsurge of development and energy. So amidst the sort of depth and feeling of understanding these horrific events that transpired, there's a whole appreciation for life as well that's accentuated by this incredible area of Milwaukee that people really get a chance to experience through the tours.

The events themselves were gruesome by nature. We strictly provide information without sensationalizing the subject matter. The tours do not lead people to empathize with Dahmer as a troubled soul, nor do we glorify or condone his acts.

The tour material has been derived from numerous sources including books, archived articles, and statements from Milwaukee's former legal community. In assembling the information, we have found a good portion of mismatched facts, stories that have taken lives of their own throughout the years, and horrific details that were not pertinent to the content of the desired tour material. We have carefully weeded through all of the information to select just the facts as they pertain to the time Dahmer spent in that particular area, what led him there, and several times where we can reflect on how he could have been stopped earlier.

The tour is led by two different guides. One has guided other tours before, and the other is a member of the LGBT community who feels a personal sense of attachment to the tour material.

As to the timing, we think it is essential to be able to present this information while there are still people around who were tied to these events. Beyond that, the facts get lost, and the entire concept becomes a caricature of itself. What happened was very real, and it is important to convey it as such.

Our relationship with Groupon remains strong, even though they did "sell the offer out". We completely respect their decision to do so, as they were the subject of a very vocal albeit small group of people who opposed the idea. Upon following up with Groupon, they have made note that they have also received a great amount of positive feedback as well. We will continue to work with Groupon for our other clients in the future.

We have gotten a huge response from people asking if we'll still honor the Groupon pricing. As it appears that almost everyone inquiring is legitimately interested in the tour for its informational and historic nature, we will be honoring the pricing. People can sign up on the Website's tour page www.dahmertours.com, and purchase one ticket per two people attending.

The tours will run through the end of September.

Of other note:

The first tour goers gave great feedback. They were very positive about the information they received and the idea that it was strictly informational and not sensationalist.

We have also been getting MUCH feedback from people who are the parents and families of murder victims nationwide. We feel it is essential to help provide support for those who have suffered a loss of this nature, and we will be donating a portion of tour proceeds to the POMC organization.
